NORTHERN ALBERTA CHILDREN'S CHOIR CONDUCTING APPRENTICESHIP
The NACC Conducting Apprenticeship Program provides an opportunity for an emerging Alberta choral conductor to work with NACC guest conductor, Christy Elsner, and the Northern Alberta Children's Choir. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate-level or early-career conductor focusing in children's choirs to develop their existing skills under the direction of a world-class pedagogue.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with NACC in rehearsal and to conduct one piece in the Northern Alberta Children’s Choir Gala Concert on Sunday, 9 February 2020, in Edmonton. The NACC Apprentice Conductor will also receive a private conducting coaching session with Ms. Elsner.
The Apprentice Conductor will lead the NACC Preparatory Rehearsal on Saturday 11 Jan 2020, in Edmonton, and will participate in the residency between 6 and 8 Feb 2020. In addition to conducting the full choir, the Apprentice Conductor may be asked to lead sectional rehearsals, work with soloists, and provide assistance in the teaching and performance of the choir’s concert program.
There is no registration fee for the NACC Conducting Apprenticeship Program. However, please note that the successful applicant will be responsible for all costs pertaining to their transportation and accommodation for the duration of the program.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate-level or early-career conductor focusing in children's choirs to develop their existing skills under the direction of a world-class pedagogue.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with SACC in rehearsal and to conduct one piece in the Southern Alberta Children’s Choir Gala Concert on Sunday, 2 February 2020, in Calgary. The SACC Apprentice Conductor will also receive a private conducting coaching session with Dr. Jenkins. The Apprentice Conductor will lead the SACC Preparatory Rehearsal on Saturday 11 Jan 2020, in Calgary, and will participate in the residency between 30 Jan and 1 Feb 2020. In addition to conducting the full choir, the Apprentice Conductor may be asked to lead sectional rehearsals, work with soloists, and provide assistance in the teaching and performance of the choir’s concert program.
