PERFORMANCE TIPS & TRICKS

Performance is a lot more than 'jazz hands'! It is about engaging your audience on your musical journey. This workshop will explore and apply key strategies for exciting a cappella performance through a barbershop performance lens. These strategies will be applied to one of the pieces in any musical style that your ensemble has prepared for the festival.

BUILD YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENT
ERIN CRAIG, CLINICIAN
This workshop takes creative elements from the 'Improvisation for Every Ensemble' workshop and places them in the context of a well-known melody and musical style. Participants will explore key aspects of rhythm, harmony, and form, and engage in a collaborative process to create a brand new vocal ensemble version of the piece. At the end of each workshop, participants will introduce and premiere their new arrangement in a live stream performance.
