Pop-Up Choir 1.0

SATURDAY, SEP 28, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
99ten, EDMONTON (9910 109 Street NW, downstairs)

Unfortunately, 9910 is not wheelchair accessible. There are approximately 10 steps down into the venue.
Please contact the Choir Alberta office if you have any concerns.
Sing. Drink. Be Merry.
Pop-Up Choir is about all about singing in the company of friends. No performance and no apologies for wrong notes. Oh, and the bar will be open!

Whether you're a seasoned singer, haven't sung for years, or have tended to reserve your singing for the shower, Pop-Up Choir is for you. Our leaders, Jen McMillan and Caleb Nelson, have arranged the tunes so that some some parts are simple and others are more challenging. You don't need to be able to read music, but if you do, the booklets do have a section with notation.
SET LIST FOR SEP 28

Hey Jude — The Beatles
Shallow — Lady Gaga

If I Had A Million Dollars — Barenaked Ladies
HOW IT WORKS
  1. Buy a ticket in advance. There might be tickets at the door, but we'd hate for you to be disappointed!
  2. When you arrive at 99ten, you will get a songbook. The songbooks have pages with just lyrics for people who don't read music and pages with musical notation for those who do.
  3. It's best to arrive a few minutes early so that you can get a drink and/or order food before we start (although you will be able to order at anytime throughout the evening).
  4. At 7:30 p.m., Jen and Caleb will lead a quick vocal warm-up and start teaching everyone the parts to the music on the set list. After we've worked on each tune, we'll sing it through so that we can hear how everything fits together.
  5. We might decide we're good enough to live stream one or two of the tunes so that your family and friends can see what you're up to!
  6. We'll wrap up by 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 each.
Online sales have now closed -- but don't worry! Tickets will be available at the door.
Pop-Up Choir 1.0 is happening during Alberta Culture Days! If you like to sing, it's the perfect way to celebrate!
