Help keep Alberta singing!

More than 400,000 Albertans sing in choirs. They sing for a long list of reasons, including the opportunity to build communities, meet new friends, improve one's overall health, develop new skills, and partake in an artistic and expressive endeavour. A variety of choirs welcome choristers at all levels, of all ages, and in all areas of the province; these include community-based children's choirs, non-auditioned adult choirs, church choirs, neurodiverse choirs, vocal jazz ensembles, and symphonic choirs. The role of Choir Alberta is to support choral music in all its forms across the province.

Choir Alberta offers that support through a proven and innovative roster of programs, projects, and services. These include professional development opportunities for teachers and conductors, workshops for choristers, regional choral festivals, the provincial honour choirs, fundraising opportunities for members, concerts featuring world-renowned artists, and the choral lending library of 200,000 octavos. Every year, thousands of singing Albertans directly benefit from the offerings of Choir Alberta.

Donations and sponsorships are vital to Choir Alberta's financial stability, and we invite you to consider investing in the organization. There are a number of ways contribute:

  • By making a one-time donation which can be directed to an area of your choosing
  • By donating to the Honour Choirs Bursary Fund to support Alberta Youth Choir and Alberta Children's Choir choristers
  • By making a contribution to the Adopt A Chorister program
  • By sponsoring a Choralfest pod
All supporters are recognized on the Donors page as well as in printed programs over the course of the season.

Thank you for your support!

DONATING IN MEMORY OF JONATHAN MOHR
On Sunday, Nov 29, Alberta's choral community lost one of it's beloved members, Dr. Jonathan Mohr. Jonathan played an integral role in galvanizing Choir Alberta (then known as the Alberta Choral Federation), and served as its President between 1980 and 1982. He would later serve as the first President of Choral Canada (which was then called the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors). Although he spent the latter part of his career as Professor of Computing Science at the University of Alberta Augustana Campus, choirs across the country have continued to benefit from his vision and leadership.
To make a donation in memory of Jonathan, please click the yellow 'Donate' button below.

By clicking the Donate Now button you will be taken to the ATB Cares site through which donations are processed.

Through the ATB Cares program, ATB will add 15% to your donation. However, your information will not be provided to us. Because we would like to thank and acknowledge your generosity, we would love to hear from you with a quick note letting us know you've made a donation through ATB Cares. You can email us at info[at]choiralberta.ca. Thank you!
