Adopt-A-Chorister Campaign

The Alberta Youth Choir (AYC) is the provincial honour choir for singers ages 16-22. It provides a unique opportunity for outstanding young singers from across the province to join forces in the pursuit of excellence in choral music under the direction of a renowned conductor.

Fifteen months ago, with the onset of COVID-19, choirs across our province (and around the world) were silenced. After a year apart, we can hardly wait to bring together 42 outstanding choristers from 24 choirs and 16 cities and towns across the province to sing together in person. The choir will be conducted by Pro Coro Canada's Artistic Director, Michael Zaugg.

To keep everyone safe and healthy, the 4-day AYC residency will take place in the modern covered parkade of Ledcor Industries in Edmonton. We have developed a unique plan to use technology to enable singers to hear one another clearly despite the ambient outdoor noise.
The Adopt-a-Chorister Campaign is one of the ways are able to present AYC without increasing registration fees, in spite of of the significant costs associated with safely delivering this program during COVID-19. Every adoption makes it possible for a talented young chorister from across the province to take part in this unique and valuable musical experience.

The cost to adopt an AYC Chorister is $100.00.

As a thank you for your support, contributors to the campaign will receive complimentary tickets to AYC's livestream performance. Donations made before June 25 will receive recognition in the AYC concert program and all donors will appear on the Choir Alberta website. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations.

Thank you for your support!
