Work with us!

Choir Alberta, Alberta’s Provincial Arts Service Organization for choirs and singing groups, is currently seeking a part-time Program Manager. In collaboration with Choir Alberta staff and volunteers, you will play a key role in the planning and delivery of Choir Alberta programs, including the Alberta Youth Choir, Alberta Children’s Choirs, Music Conference Alberta, Big Sing YEG, and SongBurst. Your work will directly impact thousands of Alberta based singers, conductors, and offstage leaders who participate in our programs annually. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in the development new Choir Alberta programs, including the Rocky Mountain Choral Leadership Retreat and Spectrum Choral Festival.

This is a permanent position of 25 hours per week. The position is based out of Choir Alberta’s Edmonton office with the opportunity to do some work from home.

What you’ll actually do
  • Program planning, both short and long-term
  • Program delivery and logistics management
  • Program assessment and evaluation
  • Coordinating volunteers
  • Managing guest artists
  • Contributing to marketing and publicity
  • Maintaining accurate records for all programs
  • Collaborating on program budgeting
  • Coordinating the Choir Alberta Program Advisory Committee

What you’re great at
  • Collaborating with leaders, artists, and program participants
  • Working in a digital environment (experience with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Canva will be an asset)
  • Transforming the vision for Choir Alberta programs into reality
  • Event planning
  • Oral and written communications
  • Engaging volunteers
  • Identifying opportunities for funding and financial support
  • Making a detailed plan but being ready to adapt as needed
  • Multitasking and prioritizing tasks
  • Advocating for Choir Alberta and its programs

You will have an interest in choral music and the arts, and will be a strong team player with a positive attitude.

In addition to working at Choir Alberta’s Edmonton office, you be needed on site for the duration of Choir Alberta programs, some of which take place on weekday evenings and weekends. As several Choir Alberta programs take place outside of the City of Edmonton, we do require you to have a valid driver’s licence.

How you’re compensated
Your starting salary will range from $18.93 to $20.82 per hour. In addition, your compensation package includes:
  • Access to a health spending account
  • An annual technology allowance
  • Matching RRSP contributions

If this sounds like an opportunity for you, reach out to us at [email protected] with the subject line Program Manager. We’re open to a variety of backgrounds and experiences – show us you’re the right fit with your cover letter and resume. The posting will remain open until the position is filled, but we strongly encourage interested individuals to apply no later than Sep 10.

Choir Alberta is committed to diversity and encourages applications from equity seeking, underrepresented, or marginalized communities.
