Program Delivery Specialist, Alberta Children's Choir

Choir Alberta, Alberta’s Provincial Arts Service Organization for choirs and singing groups, is seeking a Program Delivery Specialist to support the delivery of the Alberta Children’s Choir (ACC). Working closely with the Executive Director, ACC artistic team, Working Group, volunteers, and Choir Alberta staff, you will play a key role in the late-stage planning and on-the-ground delivery of one of Alberta’s flagship provincial honour choir programs.

As a core member of the ACC leadership team, the Program Delivery Specialist ensures that rehearsals, performances, and related activities run smoothly, professionally, and in alignment with the ACC Program Charter and Choir Alberta policy. This role is well suited to someone who believes deeply in the value of outstanding musical experiences for children, works collaboratively as part of a strong team, and thrives in the fast-paced environment of delivering a large-scale program serving more than 100 young singers.

This is a short-term contract position, totaling approximately 80 hours over an 8-week period, with hours concentrated around rehearsals, performances, and program milestones.

What you’ll be doing
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for ACC participants in the period leading up to program delivery
  • Serving as the primary on-site point of contact for ACC guest artists, volunteers, and singers
  • Coordinating rehearsals and performances, ensuring a positive, well-organized, and supportive environment
  • Supporting ACC Working Group members in their roles
  • Ensuring volunteers are well oriented through clear communication and training
  • Coordinating volunteer scheduling, reporting, and appreciation
  • Collecting program data and contributing to program reporting
  • Facilitating the evaluative process

What you bring
  • Highly developed organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with children and youth in an artistic and educational setting
  • The ability to take initiative and respond calmly in a live program environment
  • Comfort with technology and digital systems
  • Flexibility and adaptability as program circumstances and priorities shift
  • A foundational understanding of music and familiarity with Edmonton’s music and arts community

This role requires on-site presence for the duration of the ACC residency (Feb 19-21) and the ACC Showcase Concert (Feb 22). A valid driver’s licence is required.

How you’re compensated
Compensation is provided on a contract basis for approximately 80 hours over the contract term. The contract fee is $2,000.

If this sounds like an opportunity for you, reach out to us at [email protected] with the subject line ACC Program Delivery Specialist. We’re open to a variety of backgrounds and experiences – show us you’re the right fit with your cover letter and resume. The posting will remain open until the position is filled, but we strongly encourage interested individuals to apply no later than Jan 19.

Choir Alberta is committed to diversity and encourages applications from equity seeking, underrepresented, or marginalized communities.
