Information for choirs & conductors

We're thrilled that you and your choir will be part of the first-ever Alberta Big Sing! In addition to a celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary, the Alberta Big Sing is intended to provide the opportunity for choirs to:
  • meet talented and passionate choral musicians from other choirs
  • experience the thrill of singing in a very large ensemble
  • perform music composed by the conductor
  • sing as part of a mixed choir as well as a treble or lower voice choir
  • raise the profile of your ensemble(s) and the overall profile of choral music

This page provides important information for Alberta Big Sing participants. However, should you have difficulty finding the information you need, please don't hesitate to be in touch with us — 1-855-723-6397 or info@choiralberta.ca.

Uniform

During daytime rehearsals, choristers are welcome to wear clothes they would ordinarily wear to school. If your choir has t-shirts or hoodies, it would be great for the choristers to wear them.

For the evening performance, choristers should wear the formal uniform for the choir they're representing in the Big Sing. If your choir doesn't have a formal uniform (or if it hasn't yet been established for the year), choristers should wear all black. Choristers are asked not to wear their choir t-shirts, casual trousers, or white socks for the performance.
