The Alberta Children's Choir program is the only provincial honour choir for singers ages 11-15, and provides a unique opportunity for experienced and enthusiastic young singers to join forces in the pursuit of choral music excellence.

Teachers & conductors are invited to recommend exemplary choristers to the Alberta Children's Choir program.

How to recommend singers

Teachers/conductors select up to 8 choristers from each choir they conduct.
  1. Teachers/conductors give those singers the Information Letter for Parents and the Chorister Questionnaire.
  2. Singers return the completed Chorister & Parent Questionnaires to their teacher/conductor.
  3. Teachers/conductors complete a Recommendation Rubric for each of the recommended singers.
  4. Teachers complete the Online Recommendation Form (by clocking the "Submit your recommendations" button below), attaching a scanned copy of each Rubric and Questionnaire.
  5. An independent jury reviews the Rubrics and Questionnaires, and establishes a final roster for the choir.
  6. Once the roster has been established, all teachers, parents, and singers are notified via email.
  7. Parents register their children through an online registration form. Folders are sent directly to the singer's home, and singers are given access to a webpage containing music and practice tracks.
